‘Only Murders in the Building’ Renewed for 5th Season at Hulu

Only Murders in the Building has been renewed for its fifth season at Hulu. The 20th Television original comedy series’ new season will consist of 10 episodes.

The series has so far earned 49 Emmy Award nominations over three seasons. Most recently, Only Murders in the Building earned 21 Emmy nominations in several major categories, including Best Comedy Series, Best Lead Actor for Steve Martin and Martin Short with Best Lead Actress for Selena Gomez and Best Supporting Actress for Meryl Streep.

Season 4 premiered on August 27 with new episodes airing weekly on Tuesdays, concluding with the finale on October 8. Returning stars include Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Meryl Streep, Michael Cyril Creighton, Jane Lynch, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph. New additions to the cast include Molly Shannon, Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, Jane Lynch, Zach Galifianakis, Richard Kind and Melissa McCarthy.

In season 4, the series travels from New York to Los Angeles, where Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin), Oliver Putnam (Martin Short) and Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez) grapple with the sinister events at the end of season 3 surrounding Charles-Haden Savage’s stunt double Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch) untimely death. Wondering whether Sazz Pataki or Charles-Haden Savage is the intended victim, the trio’s investigation takes them across the country to where a Hollywood studio is preparing a movie based on the Only Murders podcast. As amateur sleuths race back in New York, they embark on another epic journey, they traverse the building’s courtyard to uncover the twisted lives of the residents of Arkonia’s West Tower.

Only Murders in the Building hails from co-creators and writers Steve Martin and John Robert Hoffman and also include the season 4 executive producers.
